Dra. Inés María Baldeón, our founding partner and current General Director, was appointed head of the Consulting Team in charge of the draft version of the Organic Law on the Public Procurement System (Ley Orgánica del Sistema Nacional de Contratación Pública – LOSNCP), which was thereafter enacted and is now part of the Ecuadorian legal system. This new piece of legislation brought a radical change compared with the previous legislation in force, mainly because it introduced IT tools and platforms to ensure that the transparency, publicity and competition principles are complied with by all the stakeholders. This law is now a benchmark for many other Latin-American countries.
As well, we have been entrusted with the preparation of the preliminary project of the Organic Law of State-Owned Companies now in full force and effect in Ecuador. This piece of legislation regulates the public companies in charge of the provision of public services, the management of the strategic sectors and economic projects of public interest.
